Western astrology

Western astrology is the system of astrology most popular in Western countries. Western astrology is based historically Tetrabiblos Ptolemy (second century AD), which in turn was a continuation of Hellenistic traditions and ultimately of Babylon.

Western astrology is largely horoscope, ie, it is a form of divination based on the construction of a horoscope for exact moment as the birth of a person, in which it is said that several cosmic bodies that have an influence. Astrology in Western popular culture often comes down to sun sign astrology, which only takes into account the date of birth of the individual (ie, the "position of the Sun" at the time).

Because astrology predictions failed when under scientific evidence, which is generally regarded as pseudoscientific.
